Our Knee Rehabilitation Group Class

Welcome to RX Physiotherapy’s Knee Rehabilitation Group Class, a focused programme designed to restore your knee strength and mobility over the course of 6 weeks. Located in Wollongong, our programme is led by an experienced physiotherapist who tailors each session to meet your specific rehabilitation needs. With small group sizes—limited to just five participants—you’ll receive the personalised attention you need in a supportive environment. Each session is carefully crafted to help you achieve your recovery goals efficiently, with professional guidance every step of the way.

Duration

Our knee rehabilitation programme runs for six weeks, providing a structured and progressive approach to improving knee health. Each week, you’ll engage in a customised routine designed to steadily increase your strength and reduce pain, ensuring you make consistent progress throughout your recovery journey.

Location

Classes are conducted at our state-of-art physiotherapy clinic, located at 1/35 Shellharbour Road, Lake Illawarra, NSW 2528.

Frequency

Sessions are held twice a week, with each session lasting an hour, giving you the perfect balance of activity and recovery.

Our Approach to Knee Rehabilitation

At RX Physiotherapy, we believe in a personalised approach, even within a group setting. Here’s how our programme works:

We start with a thorough initial consultation to understand your specific goals and assess the current condition of your knee. During this session, we’ll discuss your medical history and how your knee issues are affecting your daily activities. This evaluation helps us decide if our Knee Rehabilitation class is the best fit for you, or if a more personalised, one-on-one physiotherapy approach would be more beneficial.

We regularly assess your progress, adjusting your programme as needed to ensure continuous improvement.

Based on your assessment, we design a tailored exercise programme that fits within the group structure, ensuring you get the most out of every session.

Mr. Brendan Casey

Physiotherapist

Brendan’s passion lies in working with his patients to help them live their day-to-day lives by minimizing the effects of acute or chronic injuries.

Brendan has worked in the Illawarra region for several years, during which he has witnessed patients transitioning from severe limitations due to stiff joints and sore muscles to playing with their kids, returning to pre-injury duties, or managing chronic conditions at the best possible level.

Initially starting as a personal trainer, Brendan quickly recognized the negative impact of even minor injuries on a person’s function. Drawing from this experience, Brendan has developed an extensive exercise library tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual for effective rehabilitation. In the early stages, Brendan has observed the immediate positive effects of massage, dry needling, joint mobilization, and taping, among other techniques.

Brendan aims to empower his patients to successfully manage their own conditions and/or long-term rehabilitation. This involves the implementation of specific home exercise programs, group-based exercise classes, and, if accessible, hydrotherapy.

Regularly working with patients from CTP, WorkCover, NDIS, and private sectors, Brendan has treated a diverse range of individuals, from weekend warriors maintaining fitness to high-level strongmen. Although Brendan addresses all areas, he holds a particular interest in hips and shoulders. In the realm of sports, Brendan possesses knowledge spanning various events, with a special focus on combat and water sports.

In his spare time, you can find Brendan training, reading, chasing after his beagle, and enjoying quality time with his significant other.
